Christmas Countdown
Christmas countdown is a Christmas Tree ornament that counts down to Christmas, in binary. It's a fun way to learn how to read binary, and unique ornament to add to your Christmas Tree.

How to Set Christmas Countdown.

Christmas Countdown will countdown from whatever time you set. When you put Christmas Countdown into set mode, the time displayed by the binary lights will be the current month, day, hour and minute. The Day/Hour and Minute/Second lights flash in the following way to tell you which value you're setting:

Day/Hour Minute/Second
Minute Off Blinking
Hour Blinking Solid
Day Solid Blinking
Month Solid Solid

To enter setting mode, press and hold the left button for 3 or more seconds. The light pattern will change and the Day/Hour and Minute/Second lights will show "minutes" setting mode.

Pressing the right button will increase the value being set. Pressing the left button will change to the next value. When you reach the maximum value, it will wrap around to 1.

As an example, here is how to set the date to November 29th 2:27pm:

  1. Press and hold the left button for 3 or more seconds, then release. - The DH and MS lights will be off and blinking. You're in minute mode.
  2. Press the right button until the lights read:

    0 1 1 0 1 1 27 in binary
  3. Press the left button to switch to hour mode - The DH and MS lights will be blinking and solid. You're in hour mode.
  4. Press the right button until the lights read:

    0 0 1 1 1 0 - 14 (2pm) in binary
  5. Press the left button to switch to day mode
  6. Press the right button until the lights read:

    0 1 1 1 0 1 - 29 in binary.
  7. Press the left button to switch to Month mode
  8. Press the right button until the lights read:

    0 0 1 0 1 1 - 11 in binary. Please note that months will only go between 10, 11, and 12.
  9. Press and hold the left button for 3 or more seconds to switch back to countdown mode.

Christmas Countdown is only capable of counting a maximum of 63 days, meaning that the earliest you can start counting is October 23rd. Because of this, you can only set the month to 10, 11, or 12.
